Texas Sheet Cake

My mom would make this all the time when I was younger and I loved it. This a super moist chocolate cake that takes no real time to make.


  • 2 Sticks of margarine

  • 1 Cup of water

  • 4 T of cocoa powder

  • 2 Cups of flour

  • 2 Eggs

  • 2 Cups of Sugar

  • 1/2 t of salt

  • 1 t of baking soda

  • 1 t of vanilla extract

The Icing

  • 1 Stick of Margarine

  • 4 T of cocoa powder

  • 6 T of Milk

  • 1 box of 10x Sugar

  • 1 t of vanilla extract


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Bring margarine, cocoa, water to boil in a medium sauce pan.

  3. Remove from heat and add flour, sugar, and salt. Add Milk, baking soda, eggs, and vanilla.

  4. Pour in greased jelly roll pan.

  5. Bake for 20-30 minutes.

  6. In the same sauce pan, bring margarine, cocoa, and milk to a boil. Remove from heat and add 10x sugar and vanilla. Mix well. Spread over cake as soon as the cake is removed from the oven.
