Yield: 1/2 Gallon
1 cup sugar
8 cups of water
1 cup fresh mint leaves
4 Tea bags of your favorite brand. (I used Lipton)
Mint leaves and lemon for garnish
For the simple syrup you will need to bring 1 cup of mint, 1 cup of sugar, and 1 cup of water to boil. Then lower to simmer for 5 minutes. I let the simple syrup chill and then strain.
In a pitcher steep 4 tea bags in 4 cups boiling water for 5 minutes. Add the 3 remaining cups of cold water. Add your simple syrup and mix.
Serve your sweet tea over ice
Tip: Create different flavored simple syrups and create a Iced Tea bar at your next event.
