Kitchen 101: Roasted Red Peppers

Sometimes, you'll encounter recipes that call for roasted peppers. While you can always go to the store it can be cheaper to take 10-20 minutes and do it yourself.


  • Bell Pepper or other peppers of your choice


  1. Place your peppers over a full flame of your gas range. You want to let them get black on all sides, so using tongs rotate the pepper as needed.

  2. When the pepper is fully roasted, place them in a bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let sit for 5-10 minutes.

  3. Remove the peppers from the bowl and remove the skin. The skin will come off easily. You have roasted peppers for your use.
