Now I made a rule that I would not plan any more events for family or friends. It can sometimes get messy working with friends and family. Well I broke my own rule and did just that. I planned my dear friend Tolu and Tim’s wedding on February 15, 2020. This wedding was a blend of Nigerian and Black culture. This was a new space for me as a planner. I was not familiar with the Nigerian wedding traditions and I needed to learn quickly. While most couples will plan a wedding in a year in advance, we only had about 4 months to pull it all together. And it came together quite beautifully. I will always love weddings as it is so wonderful to see love ones gather to celebrate two individuals who plan to spend their lives together in love.
